Paint Tape Won't Stick
By Gary Austin
If you are going to start painting the first thing to do is prep right and one of the most important parts is the taping of baseboards and trim.
If like most of us you have found that the tape sometimes just wont stick heres a tip that may help you!
Clean the baseboards or trim with a rag first but when you do, use denatured alcohol on the rag to clean the dirt and dust off instead of water. It dries very fast and cleans well, it has helped me many a time in the past. Test a hidden area first just to make sure it doesn't lift of the paint on the trim. It shouldn't so long as you dont soak the trim but rather just a quick wipe down. Don't pour directly onto trim!
